The Big Apple, sort of (5 - 16/9 - Stamford, CT)

Orlaith and I flew up to NY and then got up to Stamford. We were both there to look around and see what it might be like to live here too. Transferring over from Zug has always been an option. Stamford isn't that far from NY and you can actually take a fast train there in about 40 minutes. It is a nice town and looks like a good place to live.

I had a pretty solid week of work but we walked around a night and had a sampling of the restaurants in the area. Orlaith got to do a bit of sightseeing in NY and around town. On the weekend we headed down into NY. It was the 10 yr memorial of 9/11 so there was tons going on.

We took a topless bus tour all over town, went for a walk in Central Park and had dinner with my frined from UNCRFC Raja, his wife Beth and his brother. We wandered around towards ground Zero and looked at the various things on for the memorial. We had a hotel that had views of the Empire State building (which makes sense because it was right across the street). It was a really nice fun weekend. Sunday, we went to the airport so that Orlaith could fly home and I flew to Baltimore for a meeting.

After another long week of work, punctuated by a doctor's visit for a persistant sinus infection. Eventually I caught my flight home and could relax... Not really, Orlaith and her mom were there already doing a bit of sightseeing.
