Day 189 - 190 (September 22 - 23) Playa Blanca

Day 189 - 190 (September 22 - 23) Playa Blanca
So early in the morning, the three of us got up early and headed to the port. The trip cost about 42k (30 roundtrip for the ferry includng lunch and a 12k port tax...). There are launchas that go out and take maybe 40 minutes and cost a tab bit more. But I have plenty of time so I don't mind taking a couple of hours on the ferry. The ferry had maybe 120 people and most are families and other groups from othe
r cities in Colombia and other South American countries.

The ferry took a while but we finally got out to the Rosario islands (sorry not many pictures - dead camera and all). Ther
e were some islands that were only occupie
d by a solitary house or one or two buildings. We stopped at one island for an hour or so. It had some refreshment stands and an "aquarium". My friends and I just kind of hung out and had a bite to eat.

Eventually we finally sighted the beach at Playa Blanca. When we got there,
they brought up a tender and we unloaded into it to make it to the beach. The ferry was going to stay for about 2 hours and then head back We walked down the beach and found a few familiar faces from the hostel.

The beach was beautiful but full of people selling jewelry, renting snorkels, offering massages and stuff like that. You got used to ignoring them and just got about the business of doing nothing.

My friends were all headed back on the ferry but I stayed out there a night. There is no electricity on the beach so once the sun was set, most of the campsites had candles. I was dead tired, but not sure why, and it was dead quiet. I think I feel asleep at about 9 but then got up for sunrise.

I had rented a hammock for about 5k and had a few beers (3k) and dinner (15k). I spent the next day sitting in the sun, reading and swimming when I got to hot. Its a tough life but someone has to do it. Later the ferries showed back up and I caught one back to town. After a few hours I was back in town and back at the hostel.
