Life is what happens when you make plans...

Well, my run here is almost done. March 12 is my official last day of employment with GT here in the UK and the 15 the last day via the US. But I am on holiday the week of the 12 so basically, I am done. As always happens, I have been busy these last few weeks with a job up in Birmingham but have been able to do most of it from London. First off - everyone seems to want to know what I am going to do next... Well so do I!

I have been looking at and applying for jobs the last few months. However none of them have worked out (I am still waiting to hear from the last 2 but....), so I have been leaning towards travelling (see previous posts). We had my leaving drinks, in conjunction with some other who are leaving as well, at a local pub. It is a good chance to see as many people from the office as possible and have a chat over a pint or two. Since most of us travel quite a bit for work, we can go days, weeks or even longer without seeing some of our colleagues. Some of these people I know I will never see again so its a good chance to say good bye.

In other news - UNC basketball whilst having a horrible year overall, is celebrating its 100th year and did so in fantastic fashion by winning the programs 2,000th game last night. Some of the guys from the office organised to go to the Brasil/Ireland international football (soccer) match on yesterday at the Emirates stadium (where Arsenal play). However the atmosphere was good - Irish fans singing, Brasileiros singing, dancing or just generally making noise. Honestly of the people I have been around, these two always seem to be generally the happiest. Brasil ended up winning 2-0 but it was a good game and the first international/professional football game I had ever been to.

And my mom and 10 year old nephew Jackson are coming over on Friday. Should be interesting...
