Baaaaaaaaaaa C-clenia Faw ma beeshee ma ba

Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba... Yes thats from The Lion King... so what do you think that means... I'm off to AFRICA!!

But hold on a second. It been a bit since I have written.

However not much has happened. I've had a few weeks of working down in Canterbury again. Its a good distance from london, even on the high speed train but its generally a quiet ride. The unfortunate thing is the snow lately. The snow has caused me to be stranded on a platform in the freezing wind, whilst I wait for my train. Which they are often delayed. Also walking across Canterbury and London is a bit rough in the icy wind and snow. Canterbury itself is a pretty town. Its easy to imagine yourself back in Chaucer's days. But I can't complain too much about snow, the US has been getting hammered like no other in the last couple of weeks. Both the UK and US are supposed to get even more snow in the next week or two as well.

We have had a few birthdays and other good occasions to go out on the town. Been to a couple of high class restaurants and clubs - because THATS where I fit in...

Also in the last month I have come to a decision. As I realised I only have 1 month left on my contract, I needed to figure out what I am doing after that. I have been haphazardly looking for new jobs and come up short. While there ARE several decent things out there, I don;t always quite fit or I have visa issues. I have looked primarily outside of the US or in large US metro areas for positions with a high level of travel. In the end I made a decision. I tendered my resignation from the company in the US and have told the UK that I will be leaving and not renewing my contract. My plans at the moment are to undertake an 8-9 month trip and see the world. Unless something comes up that I can't say no to...

I am looking at starting in South Africa and travelling overland up to Kenya. So spending a little time e in Cape Town and then leaving before the World Cup descends on the land. The tour that I have looked into is about 41 days and goes through Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. After a little time in Kenya I am planning on going over to South America. There I have no plans and am probably just going to wing it. But I am going to try and hit Panama around September / October and home for Thanksgiving. Then I'll return to the UK and try and figure out the meaning of life.
