Thanksgiving

This last week has been a whirlwind, a flurry of activity. On Wednesday I flew back to the US (yes - again). I was coming back for a brief Thanksgiving and a wedding (yes - again). Seriously, if you have the need to fly and have the ability to fly on Virgin, I'd recommend it. If you have been reading this page for awhile, you have probably seen some of my trials and tribulations with airlines. However, Virgin is about the only airline (Qantas too) that I have flown without any real issues. AND the food, seats and entertainment onboard was good. No I was not paid or otherwise compensated for that, although if they are reading his and want to pay me that’s cool.
I got into Charlotte, picked up my rental (a 300… oh how I'd missed thee) and went over to my brother's. He has been a bit out of sorts lately and it was good to see him starting to recover. After a short visit with him and his family, I was off to the Farm.

I had a short visit with the rest of my family at the Farm and then had to take off the next morning for Fayetteville. We had an early rehearsal Friday at my old church, it was weird being back there. I always remember it as being bigger, but I guess that was from the perspective of being a bit shorter. You know, when I was a kid. Unfortunately for me, after the rehearsal I had to go try on my tux… on black Friday… in a store at the Mall…

In terms of places I never want to the Mall on black Friday is up there, Cross Creek Mall is even higher. It was surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be but it is still high even up on my list of places where I don't want o be that you can feel the heat from Hell (its just a few spots higher). Of course the tux was a bit off, so the guy had to hem it. The "it will be ready in 30 or 45 minutes" turned into 3 or 4 hours, so I got to really spend some quality time with the masses that call Fayetteville home… great.

We had an awesome rehearsal dinner down at the Airborne and Special Ops museum in downtown and then a bit of a boys night back at the grooms, just chillin. Next day was up and going for the wedding. Then around town for a few pictures and out to the Officers' Club for the reception. All in all it was a great time, awesome to see so many old friends and celebrate and fantastic couple. Its occasions like this that I enjoy coming back for. But its back to real life off on the red to London Sunday.
