Christmas was fairly quiet. spent it around London with some friends. But before Christmas, my Aussie friend Andrew and I went to a couple of things around town. We went over to the Winterwonderland in Hyde Park. Its pretty much a huge mid winter carnival a la state / county fair plus German markets. They had rides and a mid way and plenty of crap you can buy. As well as tons and TONS of mulled wine, spiced cider, music and stuff. But it was definitely cold!
Then just before Christmas we went to the O2 centre and saw Paul McCartney. While I am not a huge fan, Andrew is. He played a 3 or so hour set, including most of what you would expect - Jet, Long and Winding Road, Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, Live and Let Die (awesome pyro!) Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da and loads of others that I don't know. ( for the full list... http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/paul-mccartney/2009/o2-arena-london-england-4bd70b16.html ). He even pulled a Scottish Highland Bagpipe Band on stage for Mull of Kintyre. It was a good show and he is a legend.
We have had a brief reprieve form the weather but unfortunately my plans for New Years might not be the best idea... Starting tomorrow the temperatures are supposed to drop and snow is coming again. The real issue is that I am going to Hogmanay in Edinburgh... the project temperatures for that night in Scotland might be as low as -10C or about 14 F... Not what you want to stand outside in for hours on end... Oh well good thing they make good whiskey there!
So considering I live in one of the biggest shopping streets ever, and there are massive Christmas Sales on... I think I need to go buy some warmer clothes for NYE! Later
