Dead man walking

Remember that movie (Dead Man Walking)? Well since I know I have to move, thats about how I feel at work. Really have no motivation past helping some friends with their clients. So on that front, at this point I am driving my options and am hoping to find an opportunities with my current employer that will allow me to continue traveling the world for work. We'll see what happens.

Of course this change comes about as I have completely settled in here, have good friends (work and non) and live near work at a cool place. Guess thats the way it happens. So I am heading to Perth (west coast) this week for work and then taking a few days to see Alice Springs (whihc is about middle of the country) and Uluru (Ayer's Rock). Should be a fun little break, maybe something will pan out before I come back.

So if you didn't notice, I've changed the name. "Down Under" was a bit generic, but the new one is a bit pretensious and annoying though. You see, friends of mine use fickle nomads but that didn't quite fit my thinking. "Fickle" kind of puts across that you've lost interest before you moved on. Can't say that that is what happens. You see I like all of the places I've visited, sometimes too much. Well I liked them all except maybe Paris, I did like Paris, but it was full of Parisians.

I did get to go to a Waratahs game (Super 14 Rugby Union). We got great seats, 8 rows from the field and just about 25 feet west of mid field. It was a great game, about 37,000 people and they dropped the cheesy mascot in from an army helicopter during the pregame. It was a good game, lots of fun to watch but the lines for beer were way too long. The Tahs won and will play in the finals next the week or so.

I've got loads of pic and few videos to put up, maybe I'll do it next week with my Uluru pics.

On a different note and returning to a previous topic - here is an article about funny Australian places names.
