Its been almost 3 months but it feels like years already. I've lived in 3 different suburbs, walked 100s of kilometers, eaten too many kebabs and curries, ridden more trains/buses/ferries than there are in NC and drank untold quantities of beer. My fake Aussie accent is good enough to confuse heaps of people. Sometimes they don't believe I'm from the US, until I try to talk normally. While I've met heaps of people, its hard not to miss my family and friends, especially this time of year.
My apologies to my family and friends for missing Thanksgiving. This is the one time of the year my immediate family all comes together. And this is the first time I can remember that someone has missed it.Sorry it just wasn't feasible to fly back so soon after moving here. In addition to Thanksgiving, I have missed several other things since I have moved to Sydney.
My 10 year high school reunion - Things have really changed alot since then, but then again, a lot of things haven't. I have kept up with a few people, but it would have been good to actually see more of them. I am also missing several weddings, birthdays, Alumni events and UNC games. Sorry again to everyone, I'll be back in March and next Thanksgiving.
On to the Aussie stuff:
So my Mo is getting ridiculous. Some of you got a picture, if you didn't sorry. I'll try and remember to post it soon.
I've been killing it at work lately so its been a boring month. However I did go up to Manly beach (North Shore) for a BBQ. It was really cool. You have to take a ferry across the Harbour and walk to a little cove. The crowd was a little different - mainly 20/30s expat. Whereas Coogee where I live is a little younger with more families and backpackers. Trust me you can tell a difference. I guess it was a good time to go to Manly (actually Shelley Beach - part of Manly). There was a group of Brazilian drummers hanging out playing music and later when the sun was setting - there were some fire jugglers practising on the beach. And then the ferry ride across the Harbour was awesome. I think boats rides to see the Harbour have to one of my favorite things to have done in the city and a definate recommendation to anyone visiting.
Have a good Thanksgiving

Hi, David,
We missed you, too.... Andrew, Jackson and I had to do the rocket recoveries. We were, however, unable to achieve one of your trademark mid-air interceptions, however, so your reputation is secure.
Love,
Uncle Richard
