Well the time is finally here. Truth be told, I was never sure this was going to happen. I know some of my friends are probably happy just to hear me stop talking about it! I have cleared my flat and returned the keys and am lucky enough to have a friend who has let me crash for a bit and can keep some of my things here (always seems like no matter how much stuff I get rid of, there is always more!!). I have my passport and money, flights and accommodation are booked (definitely looking into shark cage diving, maybe a vineyard tour and Table mountain hike in Cape Town). My tour will start on Saturday the 20th, so a little time to relax in SA.
Its been great here (albeit cold!) and I am leaving with mixed emotions but I know I will be back, at the very least for a few days between legs of this trip and at the end. But further out than that... has yet to be decided and I will think of that later. I do have several great friends here and hope we manage to stay in touch, there are a couple who I know will.
My flight is at 1920 local, so I have a few hours but it takes a bit to make it to Heathrow. So in a bit I'll strap my life to my back and be on my way. stay tuned, I'll try and update the blog as often as internet allows but I have no clue about access once we are trekking across to Kenya.
